Villa Laurier is a family home located in the charming village of Fontiers Cabardes nestling in the foothills of the Montagne Noire and only 30 minutes away from the historic city of Carcassonne. The villa is situated in a quiet road (cul-de-sac). Parking available in front of house
Large private garden, area for clothes drying and outdoor table tennis.
Secluded terrace and pool. Sun beds and pool towels provided. Alongside pool is an area under the arches for sitting in the shade.
Three good-sized double bedrooms, 2 with double beds, 1 with twin beds.
Shower room with sink and toilet.
Bathroom with shower and double sink unit. Hairdryer supplied!
Separate toilet and sink.
Fully equiped kitchen.
Open plan and very light living and dining room. Doors leading onto terrace overlooking the pool with a stone built barbeque, small and large tables, seating for 6-8.
**Pool not heated therefore closed from end of September.
This room has English TV plus international channels with a DVD player. A selection of DVD films, books and assorted games are available.
A study with TV providing French stations as well as a few English speaking news and sports channels.This TV has a video machine to go with the video library available.
Games room down by the pool area with pool table. Tennis racquets, pétanque (boules) set available.
Approximately 5-8 mins walk down the small hill into center of the village. Here there is a small café/restaurant,"BAR 620" (which holds live Jazz and popular music evenings a couple of times a week in the summer) post office and village store, where you can buy fresh baguettes, croissants etc daily.
2 golf courses 30 mins away in either direction.
2 village tennis courts available 4 mins from house.
Horse riding in next village, 10 mins away.
Several local restaurants in the vicinity of village.

Summary: Very spacious home in great location, only 5 minutes walk from a well stocked shop (fresh baguette and croissants for breakfast!) and a little bistro with good food. The pool and large balcony (which has a roll down shade) are not overlooked at all. There's lots of space around the pool, with both sun and shade all day. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked (vast quantity of crockery and cutlery) and Penny was a great host, who was very helpful and quick to respond to queries.

Summary: We waited a long time to get back to the gite but finally got to stay and have really enjoyed another great holiday in a wonderful location and all our favourite sports at the house and in the village. House and garden very relaxing place to spend two weeks and enjoy this fantastic house.

Summary: Just moved on from a weeks stay at Villa Laurier, the villa has everything you could need for your stay, kitchen is very well equipped, location is perfect and Penny is a great hostess. We were a three generation family, and the villa worked great for us, the pool room in the basement was a lovely touch and proved lots of entertainment, as did the simple pleasure of sitting on the balcony in the evening watching the changing colours of the sky.

Summary: We had a lovely holiday in this very comfortable property. We particularly enjoyed the pool and games room. It was such a treat having most meals outside on the veranda. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay near Carcassconne. Great holiday

Summary: Just returned from a weeks stay and what a relaxing week it was. Everything we needed and more, but you cannot put a price on how peaceful it was, to sit there with a glass of malepere and watch the sun go down was my idea of heaven.

Summary: We enjoyed staying in a well equipped and spotless home. The location was great for visiting Carcasonne, the medieval cite, the Cathar castles and various vineyards. The famous market in Revel on Saturday was full of local produce and well worth a visit. The local village bar, a short walk made for an enjoyable evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and highly recommend this house.

Summary: We had a fantastic week. The house was lovely -really cosy and homely and with everything we needed, and more. The owner, Penny, was really friendly and helpful from start to finish. Our children loved the pool , me and my husband loved the pool table ! And we all loved the video library - a real blast from the past. It was the perfect setting for a relaxing week and we would definitely recommend it . Carcassonne is only about 30 mins away and well worth a visit. There is also lac montagnes in nearby Mezmet which is great for the kids.

Summary: We stayed in this villa for a week with our two children, one of which is disabled, this villa has great disabled access. The villa was stunning a real home from home has everything you would require and more. The location was amazing in the foothills of the mountains. There was a local shop and bar/restaurant in the village. The owner was a lovely welcoming lady who was very helpful. There was lots of information in the villa on things to do in the area. I would strongly recommended the safari at sigean for the children. I would highly recommend this villa, even more beautiful than the pictures. Thank you very much for our stay we all loved it.

Summary: I stayed here with 7 friends in early August and we had a fantastic holiday, principally due to the villa. The rooms are capacious, clean etc., but we spent a lot of time on the terrace and around the pool, which were both perfect. The owner was very communicative both before and during our stay and was always on hand to help if required. It's a good location too, situated at the top of a peaceful village (albeit with bar and shops). I would heartily recommend this to anyone and everyone.
